Let my words and my words alone
be all you need to know of me.

Let only the distilled essence
of my purest thoughts spread fragrance
till where it can in this vast world.

The rest of my existence is
an insubstantial wisp of smoke.

Only that which matters will make
its way into your minds and hearts.

  1. A noble ambition to be sure but I still like an occasional, physical hug. (From Mrs N, of course!)

  2. Isn't that true, we only take into our existence the stuff we want to and nothing more.

  5. I do think that a person's words are definitely a window into who they are & most often express their essence. I enjoyed your thought process here, Madhumaki.

  7. This is very true of poets, isn't it? We are known by our words.

  11. Very nice, I wish I could make the same prayer but unfortunately I tend to err as much with my words as with my deeds. :)

  13. are words enough...they only give a hint at the one behind them...but then we only show what we think is alluring and not the complete person...so can they really know us then?

    1. The point is that they needn't know the whole of me. I want to share with others only that in me which is pristine and untouched by evil.

  14. I admire that you're able to achieve this...my poetry tends to share everything, both the good and the bad. Lovely words!

  15. Your words are powerful and precise, per usual. I, however see the value and the goodness in the whole of you.

  17. Beautiful. Words express so deeply the essence of who a person is! Your words show what a beautiful person you are for sure.

  19. Your aim is a high one. Real people have flaws and weaknesses and some of that makes for very good poetry.

  21. Beautiful thoughts and words - but knowing the essence of a person, who they truly are is often hidden behind the words they speak...
