What is All this About?

Why should i circle through lives
while you hurl hurdles at me?

Why should pain be a constant companion in
my tormented journey through the planes of this universe?

Why should i be stuck in eternal stasis,
making the same mistakes over and over again,
blinkered and fettered by changeless lack of
insight into your elusive motives?

Happiness is a bait you bribe me by
but can you compensate for aeons of suffering?

  4. Strong emotions in your poem. Some people cause us suffering until we have the courage to let them go. Everyone deserves happiness. Smiles :)

  5. I agree with Loredana. Negative people in your life must be let go of for your own well being
regardless of who they are. We are all entitled to some peace and kindness on this earth.

  12. Back for another read. Pain is the companion of our youth, kiddo....it is the forge in which we are honed. All will be well and happiness IS a promise that will be kept:)

  13. I keep wondering if this is a rant at God. If so, it's a good one... and the Creator has broad shouders. I rant all the time.

If it is simply about the human condition, or personal, it works on all levels. First time reading you, I believe, and this one was dark and light at the same time. Peace, Amy Barlow Liberatore
