The Thursday Think Tank #54 - The Beach/Ocean

We were
standing at
the sea shore,
just the four of us,
unbroken, unsullied
by the gaze of gaunt eyes,
 mouth taut with feigned sorrow,
and that face: evil etched in lines.

The sea
was a reminder
that this togetherness
was just a fleeting moment,
like the rise and fall of a tide.

  1. How sad, but I hope you made the most of the moment, that would be even sadder. Luved ur prose. Great emotion.

  2. That fleeting moment of togetherness was just a release. It couldn't be lived fully :(

  3. Powerful and sad, but great imagery! The last line gets me, "like the rise and fall of a wave"~

  9. Lines etched in evil... have we all endured such a face? Well-penned. Emotional, not sappy. Nice write.

  11. madhumakhi,

A very good and moody thought, evoked by the sea itself.
